Let’s Talk about Taylor
Born in the DMW, I grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia, a quaint historical town that influenced a large part of my aspirations and values. Immersed in education & history, Williamsburg provided me with a playground vast enough to explore all my interests on a whim and cemented a foundation rooted community, outreach, advocacy, adventure and an appreciation of the arts in all modes, especially visual.
High school was an incredible whirlwind of opportunities to dive in to and make the most of my time. I maintained an honors-level GPA while excelling in a variety of leadership roles and extracurricular activities. I served as a two-time captain for both the field hockey and basketball teams, VHSL (JCC) female athlete of the year (2021), a member of the SGA, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, National English Honor Society, president and founder of the fashion and sustainability club, and had works featured in art exhibits. Also through athletics I was able discover my love of travel and exploration. Beyond academics and athletics, I was involved with the local women’s shelter and various autism awareness organizations.
For Undergraduate, I decided to move across the country and attend Pepperdine University enrolling as an psychology major with a minor philosophy. However, as I explored my passions and interests, I discovered a strong connection to mathematics and data science, which ultimately led me to shift my academic focus. During my sophomore year I spent time in Buenos Aires, Argentina, sharpening my Spanish, volunteering with local initiatives, and soaking in South American culture for 6 months. Following my return, I joined the Math Club and the Black Student Association at Pepperdine and continue to flourish in the community around me. While I’m more interested in a career path that involves data, my love for creation opens a up a wide range of possibilities for combining analytical skills with creative storytelling, visual content development, and innovative projects. I am constantly seeking to blend my background with my analytical skills to create a meaningful impact in the world. These experiences continue to shape my vision as I prepare for new journeys and opportunities in the future.
Enjoy my personal tapestry! Thank you and I hope it was a pleasure getting to know me.
